Levitate Director laces his boots again for Charity

FC United of Manchester V Jet 2 Allstars

Location: FC United of Manchester, Broadhurst Park, 310 Lightbowne Road, Moston, Manchester, M40 0FJDirections & Travel Hub

Levitate Recruitment’s Director Kevin Elvin will be lacing his boots again this Sunday September 10th for his Old team FC United of Manchester (FCUM) He will be reuniting with the championship winning side from their inaugural season in 2005 to take part in a charity match against the Jet 2 Allstars; a celebrity team including actors for Coronation Street and Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Waterloo Road.

The match has been arranged by a former team mate Dave Brown who’s partner, Natalie, was diagnosed with a brain tumour when she was 37 weeks pregnant with her second child Bridget.

She was told at the time even with surgery there is no cure for her tumour but bravely took the decision to fight this terrible disease with alternative treatment. Dave explains “We had some bad news recently were the tumour has grown again, not giving much room for it to grow anymore and last year we struggled financially and consequently couldn’t afford to keep up her treatment.”

To help raise much needed funds, Dave has opened his little black book of FC contacts and got together the lads who won the league in our very first season. Already confirmed are Dave Chadwick, Josh Howard, Steve Spencer, Rob Nugent, Phil Melville, Steve Torpey, Phil Power, Joz Mitten, Simon Carden, Will Ahern, Kev Elvin, Rory Patterson, Gareth Ormes, Leon Mike, Adie Orr, Chris Simms, Billy Mcartney and, of course, Dave Brown himself!

Dave said “It’s a great opportunity to give thanks for what they did that year – along with our great supporters – to get the club where it is now… this is a great chance for the fans to go through there songbook again and it would be fantastic for young and old to have a great day out. We are hoping to raise as much money as I can as alternative treatment is not cheap. We are asking for as many people as possible to support the charity game and for our fantastic supporters to come out and cheer and donate to a cause close to my heart for my Natalie.

There will be lots going on before and after the game in fun filled family day. Jet 2 will also be raffling off flights on the day for tickets to a European destination of your choice.

If you are free on Sunday and would like to support Natalie and Dave then it would be great to see some familiar faces – If you are unable to attend but would still like to support them, please follow this link for their Justgiving page – https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/david-brown-151?utm_id=61
