Seventh heaven as Rovers Ladies fell Forest!

Rovers Ladies continued their hot streak by brushing aside Nottingham Forest 7-0, with seven different players on the scoresheet.

Saffron Jordan grabbed the opener on 14 minutes with a curling effort, before a bizarre own goal saw Kelly Darby head the ball over her own keeper from outside the box.

On the half-hour mark, Natasha Flint continued her good form with a near-post flick from a wonderfully delivered cross from Alex Taylor on the left.

There was no letting off for Forest as Rovers made it four not long after half-time. A corner wasn’t cleared and centre half Kayleigh McDonald was there to poke the ball home on the line.

Lagan Makin scrambled home Rovers’ fifth, before Lynda Shepherd converted a penalty after Jordan was dragged down in the box.

Kelsey Pearson completed the rout 15 minutes from time, driving forward with the ball from deep, before dribbling past two players and unleashing a powerful effort to make it seven.

It was the perfect preparation for Rovers ahead of their game against local rivals Fylde on Tuesday evening. Kick-off at Mill Farm is 7.30pm.
